This camp offers individual and group instructions in all aspects of baseball. The camp focuses on proper instructions and drills to enhance the skill levels of each individual student. The staff consists of HF-L Varsity baseball coach Ralph Clapp, HF-L modified baseball coach Pat Higgins, as well as Bill Rasmussen, A. J. Arem, John Russ, Andrew Clapp, Dan Christner, and Greg Emerson. There will be skill stations, a clinic on individual positions and baseball fundamentals and games each day. The Jeannine Milne Music Ministry is a music ministry and outreach program. The choir of the First Presbyterian Church in Honeoye Falls made a recording of favorite anthems of Jeannine Milne. During Jeannine’s illness the choir had made tapes of many of these to help her through a very difficult time. After her death we decided to make a recording (CD’s and tapes) that we could give to anyone who is ill, injured, shut-in, dealing with a loss, or dealing with any kind of challenge. Over the years we have sent our music to many places in the United States and even to England. It is heartwarming to hear how much our music has helped people. Following are a few of the ways that it has been used – at nursing homes, in the operating room, during chemotherapy treatments, and driving back and forth from the hospital when going through a crisis.

Throughout the United States, sensory gardens are being created too provide persons with disabilities a more suitable opportunity to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Sharon’s Sensory Garden is a unique garden for people with visual or physical disabilities. The sensory garden has over 170 feet of plant exposure designed for visitors to touch, tear, and smell the different plants. Sharon’s sensory Garden has a diverse selection of plants, highlighting color, texture, fragrances, and form. Flowerbeds are raised and pathways through the garden are properly graded for visitors in wheelchairs. Plant listings and labels are in Braille and raised lettering to help educate visitors. Sharon’s Sensory Garden is a wonderful addition to Mendon Ponds Park for everyone to enjoy. The experience of visiting the sensory garden will enhance your enjoyment of nature as well as your awareness of people with disabilities. (04)

She trained and works with Betty Perkins Carpenter, who was appointed to the president’s council on physical fitness and sports, and is the author of several books on senior fitness. Throughout the United States, sensory gardens are being created to provide persons with disabilities a more suitable opportunity to enjoy nature and the outdoors. Sharon’s Sensory Garden is a unique garden for people with visual or physical disabilities. The sensory garden has over 170 feet of plant exposure designed for visitors to touch, tear, and smell the different plants. Sharon’s Sensory Garden has a diverse selection of plants, highlighting color, texture, fragrances and form. Flowerbeds are raised and pathways through the garden are properly graded for visitors in wheelchairs. Plant listings and labels are in Braille and raised lettering to help educate visitors. Sharon’s Sensory Garden is a wonderful addition to Mendon Ponds Park for everyone to enjoy. The experience of visiting the sensory garden will enhance your enjoyment of nature as well as your awareness of people with disabilities. (04)

The Bill Koch Ski League is the youth segment of the United States Ski Association. The main purpose is to encourage the development of cross country skiing. This features competitive travel soccer teams for boys and girls ages 9 through 19 (as of July). These teams complete in intertown play from May through July. Indoor play over the winter season is sometimes included, pending interest. The BLAZE club is affiliated with the Rochester District Youth Soccer League. Registration takes place in September for the following year. There will be tryouts for most teams due to high levels of play and limits on roster sizes. The cost is $160.00 which covers registration, uniform, tournament fees, league costs, etc. Adult volunteers are always needs as club organizers, coaches, etc. (02)
